By Luke Rudman
Luke Rudman is a visual-and-performance artist based in Gqeberha, South Africa. He completed his BVA Fine Arts postgraduate degrees at NMU in 2023. Rudman has a background of working within spaces of environmentalism, drag and performance art – often
working within the intersections of these spaces. Rudman’s cross-disciplinary history
influences his practice of creating art that sits within the intersection of painting, photography, performance, and installation. This multi-modal, ‘non-binary’ approach to artmaking is reflective of the themes within his art – such as the complex and nuanced
relationship between conceptions of nature and of queer identity.
