jeffery blanford aka blu ampersand (they/she) is a painter from new jersey. they were an artist since the age of 5 after being inspired by the drawing talents of their older siblings, markelle & brandon blanford… jeffery has a love for all things blue. to say blue is her favorite color is an understatement… the color inspires her, motivates her & soothes her. jeffery is inspired by their loved childhood books & cartoons . . . they seek to create works that invoke comfort & safety, even though the characters in their work are depictions of ghosts, monsters & things that may be seen as “scary” they depict them to show that things seen & conceptualized as “monsters” can still be kind . . .
