
Mekleit Dix (she/her) is a Black, queer poet, writer, editor ,and researcher based between Los Angeles and New York. Her research interests revolve around both the emergent and ancestral cultural understandings regarding the protective value of kinship modalities with specific focus towards Black communities. As a poet and writer, Mekleit’s words have been featured in A Garden of Black Joy: Global Poetry From the Edges of Liberation and Living, The Black Youth Project, Lesbians Are Miracles,
and The Maine Review.
